MODEL OVERVIEW:
-EXPLORE can simulate oil and gas recovery by fluid expansion, displacement, gravity drainage and capillary imbibition mechanism.
-EXPLORE handles time -dependent flow correction factors for the description of interporosity flow in water-oil systems.
-EXPLORE is used for the study of such problems such as primary depletion, pressure maintenance (by water and/or gas injection) and basic secondary recovery operations (such as water flooding) in a naturally fractured black oil reservoir using slanted, or horizontal and vertical wells.
-EXPLORE employs the Implicit pressure-Explicit Saturation (IMPES) formulation, permitting the simulation of larger problems on a small computer such as micro computer.
-EXPLORE employs the Linear successive over-relaxation (LSOR) iterative solution technique.
-EXPLORE has the ability to adjust the three dimensional gridblocks of the reservoir arrays. this method is called dynamic redimensioning.
-EXPLORE permits the input of all data on a spreadsheet, this helps simplify the preparation, review and visual checking of the data, thus minimizing input errors.
-The fracture system added to EXPLORE can be used to simulate the production and injection from any combination of vertical, horizontal and slant wells in a naturally fractured reservoir that can be represented by a dual porosity, dual-permeability model.
